DATA ANALYSIS AND third-party verification
Data is the fuel of the digital economy and we love working with maritime data! We offer data analysis as a service and perform third-party verification studies for performance, operational efficiency, motions and schedule accuracy.
WDL studies
Weather Dependent Lashing (WDL) is a concept where the aim is to safely optimise the lashing of cargo on (especially) liner-type RoRo ships. Our WDL studies include real-time motion and weather recording from the ship in question, combined with statistical and historical weather pattern analysis for the ship’s route. The end outcome is a report which can be used to prove to the Flag/Class that the ship experiences less heavy motions than what the normal IMO Cargo Securing Manual would assume.
WDL ultimately saves time in port (optimised lashing = less time needed for lashing), which can then translate to longer time at sea, reduction in average speed and ultimately savings in fuel and emissions.
Our P&O Ferries project is an example of this type of study.
